The Call is my love letter to some of my most favorite compositional influences. From the likes of Mahler, Respighi, Shostakovich, and many more, my first love was always orchestra. The name itself has a dual meaning. The melodies in the work are introduced as horn calls, the horn playing a vital role in the piece. There is a more personal meaning as well. In writing this, I found myself drawn to the world of composition in a way I had never been. We'll say it was a call to something greater.
